REFURBISHMENT OF TC82

JUPITER undertook a new project of electrically refurbishing an offline UV coater machine for Pattabi Enterprises (Mysore). The machine was almost 11 years old and had issues with daily production. The highlights of this refurbishment are as follows,

• Changes in the electrical layout for better safety and feedback

• Replacing and rewiring of all switchgears

• Providing electrical drawings with new wire numbering

• Replacing the high precision fiber optic sensors with new ones for accurate registry

• The existing junction box (damaged with oil and chemical leaks) was replaced with IP65 standard junction box.

• Mechanical counters were replaced with touch screen

• The new touch screen (Proface) provides more information like, alarms, counters, sensor feedback to the operator

• The PLC (VIPA) program was modified to incorporate the new alarm feedback into the system

All the above mentioned changes were done with a down time of one and a half days and handed over to production and testing. With these updates, the machine functionality was enhanced for greater precision in quality of the job outcome.
